Applications are invited for one position of Junior Research Fellow (JRF)
to work in the Chemical Biology and Molecular Imaging group (PI: Prof. Ankona
Datta) in the Department of Chemical Sciences (DCS), TIFR, Mumbai.

Job Role:
The JRF will be part of the Chemical
Biology and Molecular Imaging research program. The appointee will be expected
to perform cutting-edge research in the development of fluorescent chemo-sensors
for imaging bio-molecules. This project will help the JRF develop skills in
molecular sensor development and delivery of sensors as nano-emulsions.
Candidates motivated to build a research career in chemical biology and excited
to work in the interface of chemistry and biology, with prior research
experience in the list of desirable experiences will be preferred.
Qualifications Essential:
M.Sc. in Chemistry/Biology with minimum 60% marks. OR B.E./B.Tech.
in Biotechnology with minimum 60% marks.
GATE/NET/JEST/TIFR written entrance test qualification (anyone) is required
at the time of joining. If you have given either of these exams and results are
awaited within the next 2 months, then you can apply.
Desirable:
Research experience in the following will be required: synthesis and
characterization of organic molecules, fluorescence spectroscopy, absorption
spectroscopy, HPLC, LC-MS, and mammalian cell culture.

Age Limit and Fellowship:
Age: Preferably below 30 years on January
1, 2025.
Fellowship: JRF position
with a fellowship of Rs. 37,000/- + HRA as admissible.
Nature & Period of Post:
The appointment as JRF is temporary and will be initially for a period of
one year, extendable for a maximum of another 3 years based on performance. The
total duration is 4 years (2 years as JRF and 2 years as SRF).
